The Role of Government in the U.S. Healthcare System – Past, Present, and Future

Richard Kocur is an associate professor of management and marketing at Grove City College. Prior to joining the faculty, he spent 28 years in industry, working in the pharmaceutical, managed care, and consumer healthcare sectors for companies such as The Upjohn Company, Coventry Healthcare, and Glaxo SmithKline. He has written extensively on U.S. healthcare policy and most recently on the changing role of corporations in society. Dr. Kocur received a bachelor’s degree in biology from Grove City College, holds a master’s degree in business administration from the Joseph M. Katz School of Business at the University of Pittsburgh and a doctorate in marketing from The Falls School of Business at Anderson University. Dr. Kocur lives in Cranberry Township, PA, with his wife Carol, also a Grove City graduate, and has four children, three of whom are Grove City alumni and one who is a current student.
